    Two thumbs WAY up.

If this passes, we'd have to determine how many years in advance it's okay to trade. Two is good.

Although I have heard some good arguements against the ability to trade draft picks I have always wanted to be a part of a league that allowed it if for no other reason to add another dimension to trading.

Trading of picks should only be allowed for one season out. If you allow it for too many seasons in advance, it is way too easy for a GM to trade away picks, quit the league and then leave the new GM with out any amateur picks for a couple years.

I will hold off on voting on this for now.

Either 1 year out, or no trading of picks IMO.

Draft pick compensation is supposed to be fixed in the next patch BTW

If we allow draft pick trading, how many years out will we be allowed to trade?

This is pretty key in me placing my vote.

I'd go one year for reasons you stated earlier.

It's also good to have rules in place for things like max # of picks tradeable per year. Or max picks tradeable in top 5. Or make for every one pick you trade you must get one back even if its # 1 in a deal getting # 10 back. Just throwing out ideas.

One huge drawback in pick trading is (and sorry to beat the dead horse), recruitment. You never want to saw to a new guy, "Hey this team is open but it's missing it's 1,2,5,6,7,8 picks in the upcoming draft" who will join then?

The only way other types of leagues get around that is when you pay for a league you have to pay for the next year before you can trade that years pick. That way the new guy with no picks at least doesnt have to pay.
OBVIOUSLY OBVIOUSLY NO NO NO I am not saying make this PAY, it was just an example of ways I have seen in past to soften the you have nopicks blow. I would never be in favor of a PAY OOTP league.

Anyway I am not in favor of trading draft picks. It's just a nightmare for the league as a whole

Also, will we be able to sell picks for cash?

    No picks for cash.

Only used in trades where each team exchanges a player as well. No picks for players trades is a good idea as well.

Even though I like free agent compensation better than trading draft picks, AND it is supposed to be fixed in the patch... I will vote for pick trades ONLY if we are limiting it to one year. Anything over that becomes a hassle to track and can lead to a team getting ruined, dumped, and the new GM to come in at a disadvantage of having no amateur picks for a couple years.

I wouldn't want to be the guy taking over that team.

    Vote cast.

Jesus Christ, if you're going to add that many restrictions to it, might as well not allow it.

HAHA I can somewhat agree with this.

The more restrictions that are placed on something and the more outside rules there are to police, the more confusing it gets.

I am honestly more interested in free agent compensation and not having picks be traded at all.

However, I was trying to go with the flow on this one since I am pretty adamant on other subjects.

I think trading of draft picks is a necessity, it allows some teams to bulk up and others to get a key piece to their rosters

Fine with me. I am not going anywhere and I like to stockpile picks! More tallent more fun for me.

If we allow it I kinda agree the less stipulations the better.

I am all for the no picks for cash tho thats common sense.

But a Pick for a player is ok.
Min # of picks kept seems commons sense to keep some amount of players coming into a team.
And finally no more then 1 year ahead seems ok to me.

One year out is good policy but picks for players seems ok to me.

And of course the commish will review trades.
