Booted up and ol' OOTP X and decided to start a little warm-up franchise. Going to attempt to keep this realistic, or as realistic as I can, but we all know OOTP can do some funky things. Ratings are on a one-to-ten scale, overall on a twenty-to-eighty. Trades are on high, hard, and favoring prospects (kind of like my bedroom, oh yeah) and will hopefully result in some reasonable trades.

25-Man Roster: OF Rocco Baldelli, OF Jason Bay, SP Josh Beckett, 1B Chris Carter, MR Manny Delcarmen, OF J.D. Drew, OF Jacoby Ellsbury, IF Nick Green, C George Kottaras, SP Jon Lester, MR Javier Lopez, 3B Mike Lowell, SS Jed Lowrie, SP Justin Masterson, SP Daisuke Matsuzaka, MR Hideki Okajima, DH David Ortiz, CL Jonathan Papelbon, 2B Dustin Pedroia, SP Brad Penny, MR Takashi Saito, C Jason Varitek, SP Tim Wakefield, UTIL Brad Wilkerson, 1B Kevin Youkilis

Disabled List: OF Mark Kotsay (9 weeks), SP John Smoltz (3 months), SS Julio Lugo (3 weeks)

We talked a few free agents up, but we didn't reach any agreements. In one funny instance the Seattle Mariners traded Ken Griffey Jr. to the Reds for Arthur Rhodes. In divisional trading news, the Blue Jays added outfielder Raul Ibanez and minor league starting pitcher Joe Savery for reliever Jason Frasor and minor league second baseman Bradley Emaus.

We made a minor move, sending Chris Carter to Triple A Pawtucket and moved reliever Ramon Ramirez on to the big league roster. He should have been there to begin with. We aren't going to try to make any major moves, considering the season starts in a day or two.

    April 2009 Schedule
    3 vs. TBA
    3 @ LAA
    3 @ OAK
    4 vs. BAL
    2 vs. MIN
    3 vs. NYY
    3 @ CLE
    1 @ TBA (Into May)

    Prediction: 14-8

A fast start would be nice.
